Best Practices for Gender Equality

The present document is of TALLHEDA project’s request on Best Practices for gender Equality and Inclusive Education in widening HEIs as part of the cross-fertilization activities of WP2 and particularly T2.4.

The main objectives of the present document were 1) to deliver a protocol for identifying and documenting Best Practices in mainstreaming gender equality and inclusive education in HEIs and, 2) to provide representative documented examples of such Best Practices. Initially, the document presents an overview of the importance of gender equality and inclusiveness, focusing on strategies towards mainstreaming gender equality with emphasis on TALLHEDA widening countries. Subsequently, the benefits of gender equality and inclusive education in HEIs along with the relevance to the EU policy era are discussed to reveal current obstacles and proposed tackling solutions and strategies. Particular emphasis is given to the TALLHEDA widening HEIs current situation with respect to mainstreaming gender equality and inclusive education.
