From March 18th to 20th, 2025, the University of Novi Sad successfully conducted a staff mobility visit to Smart Agro Hub (SAH) as part of the TALLHEDA project. The three-day program provided an enriching platform for knowledge exchange, focusing on cutting-edge agricultural technologies, precision farming, and EU-funded research initiatives.
Day 1: Exploring Smart Agro Hub and Its Innovations
The mobility program commenced with a warm reception and an overview of the agenda. Participants were introduced to SAH’s mission and expertise in agri-tech solutions. Presentations covered key innovations such as e-situ™ and agros™, offering insights into digital tools designed for smart farming.
Following a networking coffee break, experts shared their experiences on Smart Agro Lab, Erasmus+, and SAH’s involvement in significant projects like PROVER, Know4farm, and Farmforward. The first day concluded with an engaging discussion and a social lunch, fostering collaboration among participants.
Day 2: Hands-On Experience in Precision Agriculture
The second day featured a field visit to Aliartos, where attendees engaged in practical demonstrations of Precision Agriculture techniques. The sessions covered essential farming aspects, including soil preparation, seed management, smart irrigation, precision fertilization, and crop protection.
A dedicated coffee break provided time for networking before continuing with yield and quality monitoring methodologies and smart harvesting techniques. The afternoon was highlighted by a hands-on session, allowing participants to observe and implement precision agriculture technologies. The day concluded with a Q&A session, encouraging knowledge sharing and feedback.
Day 3: EU Research and Innovation in Agriculture
The final day focused on European research programs supporting agricultural advancements. Presentations covered Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, and AGRO-WELL, with discussions on SAH’s role in these initiatives. The TRUSTFOOD project was also introduced, emphasizing food safety and supply chain transparency.
To reinforce learning, participants engaged in an interactive quiz session on Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, and Erasmus+ programs. The mobility concluded with a wrap-up session, summarizing key takeaways and fostering future cooperation between SAH and the University of Novi Sad.
